 Discount Incentives

The high discount schedule has been devised to strengthen Bess Press Inc.’ working relationship with retailers inside a localized market, and for retailers within the national mass market.

As retailers expand digital offerings, Bess Press Inc. will work within this framework to offer digital product, as both publisher and distributor of Hawaii and Pacific Island title content. Please see below for eBook and Digital retail terms-of-sale.

Payment Terms

60 days End-of-Month from invoice date. Payments can be made in the form of cash, check, credit card, wire transfer, or direct deposit.

In the event of non-payment, the account is responsible for any late fees, finance charges, collection and/or legal fees incurred. A 1% interest rate per month may be added for any payments exceeding 90 days. A completed credit application must be on file for retailers who purchase more than 2x a year.

Returns

Only returnable product purchased directly from Bess Press Inc. can be returned for credit. All books are eligible for return, except with instances were product has been damaged, product was purchased at bargain prices, product was purchased above 50% discount mark, product was donated, or under any circumstance requiring arrangement separate from the standard terms-of- sale.

All eligible returns will be credited at the same price and discount at which the books were purchased. An invoice stating quantities, titles, and ISBNs must accompany all returns. Transportation charges on all returns must be pre-paid by the customer. Bess Press Inc. will not pay shipping for any titles returned. If books are received damaged when shipped from Bess Press Inc., retailers must report damage and arrange for return within 10 working days of receiving order. Bess Press Inc. will work with you to solve this problem.

 

SHIPPING

Most shipments originate in Hawaii. In-stock titles will ship within 3-10 business days. ALL orders in the United States or Guam are shipped via UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail. Retailers and customers must pay the actual shipping cost. Shipping costs are based off the USPS established zip code shipping rates and prices.

 

Alternative shipping arrangements can be made when specified/requested by the retailer or customer prior to placing order. If specific shipping arrangements are requested or different than those offered, than the retailer or customer will be charged the ACTUAL shipping/postage cost. Bess Press Inc. will not be responsible for lost packages once delivery is confirmed.

 

If the retailer or customer arranges order pick-up at the Bess Press Inc. Warehouse and will be subject to a handling fee.

 

Specific delivery arrangements can be made by retailer, customer, or Bess Press Inc. and will be subject to a handling fee.

 

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: All international orders are shipped via USPS. Actual shipping/postage charges will be added to all orders, plus a $5 handling fee

 

Retail: Trade titles purchased are applicable to the discounts provided. All retail purchases of Educational textbooks and related materials are subject to only 25% discount off the retail price. Retail purchases are subject to shipping and handling fees.

 

Educators: Educational titles purchased with a retail book order receive the applicable discount under the educational policy. Educational discount applies to ALL orders placed with an official purchase order and/or valid proof of affiliation with an educational institution or organization, i.e. HHA or other Homeschool associations. All Educational orders will be charged 7% of the total sale for shipping and handling. The listed DOMESTIC SHIPPING RATES do not apply. All orders arranged for PICK-UP at Bess Press Inc. will be subject to a handling fee.

 

CLAIMS

• All credit memos will be initiated by Bess Press Inc. after receiving the returned merchandise.

• Any order discrepancies must be reported to Bess Press Inc. within 30 days of

receiving the order.

 

CHANGE IN TERMS

 

Bess Press Inc. reserves the right to change this policy without notice. Bess Press Inc. also reserves the right to sell selected products under special terms at any time.

EBook and Digitally Downloadable format file Retail Policy

 

DEFINITION:

An e-retailer is a business that purchases, distributes, or sells titles an e-Book and digitally downloadable format file primarily to e-consumers other than schools, libraries, or government agencies, through an electronic content server, via on-line stores and e-commerce platforms.

Effective January 1, 2011

A customer is a person or organization that purchases, accesses or makes available e-Books titles and digitally downloadable files for sole use within an on-line venue or through an authorized reseller. All Bess Press Inc. titles are not available to be sold as an E-Book or digitally downloadable file. All e-Book titles made available for digital sale must be approved by Publisher prior to being made available via on-line and ecommerce platforms.

Per Bess Press Inc.’s post-publication Distribution Agreement, and on e-Book titles and digitally downloadable format files, Bess Press Inc. retains 70% of the listed retail list price and the distributor or re-seller retains the remaining 30% of the listed retail list price.
