Everything from Arrowroot to Yam is here detailing 20 plants brought from the South Pacific to Hawaii circa 450 AD. It contains graphic illustrations plus plant descriptions habitats uses legends and a poem about each. The author an elementary school teacher at Punahou says the books objective is to create an atmosphere of love and concern for the rich heritage of Hawaiian culture especially through study of the early Hawaiians close association with plants. An excellent teaching aid it is a great Hawaiiana resource for adult readers.
