ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Joan Namkoong, born and raised in Hawaiy‘i, is the daughter of Korean immigrants. She graduated from Kailua High School and the University of Washington. Following a successful career in retailing and journalism, she became a freelance writer and now has several books in print including Go Home Cook Rice, Family Traditions in Hawai‘i. Joan is Honolulu’s favorite foodie, interested in and expert on all things food related.
